Our Story
The Charles T. McDowell Center for Global Studies was founded in 2010 as a result of a generous endowment by Mrs. Betty Ruch and her late husband Roger in honor of their long-time friend, Dr. Charles T. McDowell.
Our goal is to cultivate global understanding through an open exchange of ideas between UTA and communities across the world. We promote curiosity and research by supporting scholars and artists who seek to view the world from a different perspective. We do this because we believe that intercultural communication creates forward-thinking and compassionate human beings.
Explore Global Opportunities
The McDowell Center fosters cultural competence by funding projects and programs that prioritize language acquisition, cultural exchange, and community integration.
